This works for one night-out only, BUT WOW. . . What an impact it makes! The top-coat polish acts like a glue. For a steadier hand, use a tweezer to get those fluffy feathers on. Tweezers also help you to avoid getting one feathered nail stuck to another!
Follow the diagram to get a “real” feather look, here’s what you’ll need: A base color, a nail file, a small pair of scissors and top clear coat. And, of course, some feathers! The thinner and lighter the better. Where to get feathers? Find a variety of styles at your local craft store, like ‘Michael’s’.
If having ALL your nails done up in feathers is too much, why not just choose one nail? Be sure to use a clear top-coat to seal the feather in and give it a glossy finished look!
The watercolor basecoat in a contrasting color makes this simple black feather design stand out! To get the “watercolor effect” drip a brush into acetone and lightly dap onto the color, this will allow the color to spread and become transparent.
For this look, you might want to stick with one nail for the hand-painted feather. It’ll take much patience and a sturdy hand!
What’s nice about having a French mani as your base coat, is it’s a light summery look for warmer weather. Simply first apply the usual French mani, and follow tutorial in slide #2 in this gallery. Notice how the pinky nail has a tiny bit of feather? So pretty!
Apply your base coat and let completely dry, with a very thin brush paint a single line for the center stem, then flick the brush slightly up and outwards for feathers. Use a top coat, like Seche Vite for a nice finish! Get more detailed nail painting techniques on site: onenailtorulethemall.blogspot.co.uk

Going out for a celebrative party? This sparkly idea is the easiest when applied on top of feather decals or stamps! After applying feathers onto your nails, simply accent with glitter nail polish using a thin brush! Also tiny rhinestones will lend extra bling!
Here the metallic basecoat makes these feather come alive! How does nail art stamping work? Stamping is exactly how it sounds. . . It’s a design you “stamp” onto your nails. This look has the added hand-painting to give the peacock feathers more depth.
We love the way the two-tone basecoat with a bit of shimmer makes this slightly transparent feather look like “it’s” actually two colors! Also the clear topcoat on top of the feather allows it to be transparent.
