Try Ombre Lips This Fall!
The word “ombre” is a French word, which means “to shade”. Today ombre is popular phrase in beauty and fashion: ombre hair, ombre clothes, ombre decor, etc. This fall, ombre lips are looking fresh, new and exciting especially for the coming holiday season.
Keep in mind these three tricks when recreating the ombre lip: 1) Lip pencil is your friend. It prevents bleeding outside the lip line as well as defines the lips. 2) Generally stick to three lip color products and a lip brush. 3) Remember to follow the light, by mimicking the way light naturally hits a glossy lip in the center, AND don’t be afraid to go bold!
Moisturize you lips with clear lip balm before applying the lipstick to allow a smooth ombre blending of color. 1) Outline the lips, using your darkest purple shade. 2) In the middle of the lips you need to apply a lighter shade. 3) Take a clean brush and carefully blend the shades until you get the ombre effect.
Notice how makeup concealer and lip pencil liner are applied to lips as a foundation before the lip ombre color is applied? It’s the best way to keep dark shaded lips from bleeding where they shouldn’t.
The darkest purple lips makes for an amazing gothic look. To get the super dark purple shade, use a wide lip liner or even purple eyeshadow pencil for lining outer lips while bringing the color in towards the center. Wear them either matte or covered over with gloss.
Are you flying away to warmer weather during the holiday season? Try a bright color palette by using yellow lipstick for your lightest ombre shade. . . yummy.
Here we have four shades of lip color, BUT what’s essential in this diagram are the three shapes of lip brushes for blending color. A pointed brush is for defining the outer lips and the rounder brushes are for shading and feathering the inner lips.
Fading from one color to another with the color combinations of pinks, corals and nude is one of the newer makeup looks: 1) Apply a layer of lip color on the inner part of your lips. 2) Blend out the color using concealer. It’s super easy and fast, and with your understated ombre lips, your eyes will pop!
To get this festive look first line lips, then dab glittery gold lipgloss in the lip’s center and blend. Then apply a red lipstick and carefully blend from the outer lip corners in towards the center until you hit the gold gloss. So pretty.
