When You Cut Ice Cream Instead of Scooping, Something Awesome Happens
Here’s an an easy way to tackle scooping and serving-up frozen hard ice-cream. First, you’ll want to warm a pointed knife blade under hot water.
Then with the warm knife, make 1 inch deep cuts spaced 1 inch apart across the ice cream. Be sure to cut all the way down near to the bottom of the carton.
Now, turn the carton around 90 degrees and make 1 inch deep cuts spaced 1 inch apart, forming a checkerboard pattern.
Here’s how your “checkerboard” ice-cream in it’s carton should look like.
Now warm an ice-cream scooper or spoon under hot water, like you did your knife.
Scoop along the checkerboard cuts, and you’ll be amazed how easily the ice-cream comes out.
You can now scoop the ice cream into your bowl effortlessly. After the first layer, cut into the next. Yum!
